Lifeline

Taking care of an older loved one can be difficult for families, especially those who live in other cities or states.  St. Mary’s Lifeline is a great way for patients to receive in home care securely.  Families can count on Lifeline and will be notified in emergency situations at the push of a button.  Lifeline is giving seniors the independence to continue living on their own safely.

Lifeline is a one-button personal response service to aid seniors in emergencies and non-emergencies.  When your loved one is in trouble they can press the Lifeline Personal Help Button, which will immediately dial the Lifeline Response Center at St.Mary’s. A Trained Personal Response Associate will then have access to the patient’s profile and critical information and can contact help immediately.  St. Mary’s can notify you, a neighbor, another family member, or emergency services, whichever is most appropriate. You can rest assured that your loved one will be taken care of.

In An Emergency:

  • The patient will press the Personal Help Button for help or press the Red Help communicator button on the communicator.  Wait for the Response Center to call back.

  • The Response Center will try to contact the patient through the communicator’s built-in speakerphone.  If the patient cannot be reached, help will be sent automatically.

  • When help arrives, they press the Reset Bar to notify the Response Center that they have come to the patient’s aid.  The Response Center will then contact the patient to see if additional assistance is needed.

Lifeline has more advantages than just helping in an emergency situation; it also is a great way to help your loved one stay in touch with others.  The Care Partner Telephone makes it easier to dial, and using the Personal Help Button allows customers to use a speakerphone function without being near a phone.  The Care Partner Telephone also allows loved ones, or the person using the system, to leave reminder messages about how to stay healthy or to remind the user of important things they need to do, such as take medication.

Lifeline is a nationwide organization currently serving over 500,000 seniors. Lifeline is proud to be the preferred provider of care by the Visiting Nurse Associations of America and hospitals around the country, including St. Mary’s.  Lifeline allows you to give your loved one the care they need from the comfort of their own home.
