![]() Contact: Crysty Odom St. Mary’s Foundation will be one of nearly 40 local charities benefiting from the Stadion Athens Classic golf tournament this spring through a program called Tickets Fore Charity. The tournament tees off at the University of Georgia Golf Course on Monday, April 25, and runs through Sunday, May 2, with professional tournament play Thursday through Sunday. Through a partnership with the Nationwide Tour and Tickets Fore Charity, all ticket-sale proceeds will go directly to participating local non-profit organizations, including St. Mary’s Foundation. Tickets permit entry and re-entry to the tournament throughout the entire course of the event. Here’s how it works: Visit this link to purchase tickets through Tickets Fore Charity. Single tickets are $25 for the week or $200 for a group of 10. Near the end of the purchasing process, the site will ask you to choose a benefiting charity. When you choose St. Mary’s Foundation, the hospital will receive 100 percent of the proceeds from your ticket sale. According to St. Mary’s Foundation Director Crysty Odom, St. Mary’s will use these funds to improve and enhance services provided to patients and residents in its key focus areas: neurosciences, orthopedics, cardiac care, women’s and children’s health, gastroenterology and older adults. “I know that with the commitment from the people of Athens, the Athens Classic at UGA will take its place as one of the premiere events on the Nationwide Tour,” says Chip Beck, Honorary Chair of the Stadion Athens Classic at UGA and Former UGA All-American and PGA Tour Champion. “This event promises to be enjoyable for the golf enthusiast and novice alike,” Odom said. “It will rally community involvement for more than just the game of golf, but a celebration of Athens’ non-profit work.” The Nationwide Tour, being held for the first time at the UGA Golf Course, is known as the “official proving ground” of the PGA Tour.
