St. Mary’s is actively involved in numerous community events that benefit everyone from newborns (March of Dimes WalkAmerica) to people with life-limiting illnesses (hospice events).

Healing Grief Support Group
St. Mary’s Hospice Services is now taking applications for participation in its free Healing Grief support group, an 8-week program for adults who have lost a loved one through death. The group will meet from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. each Tuesday from March 27 through May 15 at St. Mary’s Highland Hills Village, 1660 Jennings Mill Road. In this private, peaceful setting, participants will learn ways to better cope with the death of their loved one in a supportive group environment. The professionally facilitated group takes an educational and supportive approach to healing. Topics will include: understanding grief; remembering, accepting and expressing feelings; spirituality; stress and coping; anniversaries, and memorialization. Healing Grief is free but participants need to complete an application in order to enroll. Culinaria
Join us on April 22, 2012 at either Five & Ten or The National for St. Mary's annual Culinaria event. Minimum contribution of $175 per person, reservations are required and venue choice will be honored in the order the reservation is received. 6:30pm Champagne Reception with dinner beginning at 7:30pm. All proceeds benefit St. Mary's Foundation. 
Next Step 5K
Join Sally Baker and other local Stroke Survivors on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Oconee County High School beginning at 9:30am. Advance registration is $20 per walker and $10 for children 12 & under. Tshirts can be purchased for $10 in advance or they will be available day of event for $15. All proceeds will benefit ongoing stroke care at St. Mary's Health Care System. March of Dimes March for Babies
Join St. Mary's and other local businesses and families in the annual March for Babies on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Clarke Central High School. Registration will begin at 9:00am with 3 mile walk through Athens at 10:00am. For more information on sponsorship, forming a team, or volunteering, please contact 706-389-3892.
St. Mary's Golf Tournament
Join us for our annual golf tournament at Athens Country Club on Monday, May 14, 2012. Registration will begin at 8am, shotgun start at 10:00am. Entry fee is $175 per person and includes lunch, golf shirt, tournament, 2 mulligans, 2 drink tickets, and the 19th hole reception. There will be prizes for low score and closest to pin. Event will benefit St. Mary's Alzheimer's and Dementia Care, Hospice and Palliative Care Services. Bulldogs Battling Breast Cancer Golf Tournament
Join us on Monday, July 9, 2012 at The Georgia Club for the annual Bulldogs Battling Breast Cancer Golf Tournament. Registration will begin at noon, shortgun start at 2:00pm. Cost is $150 per player which includes golf, cart, range balls, box lunch and post tournament dinner. Three players per team plus one UGA player/coach.
