- Direct Admission – Our pre-registered older adult patients can go directly to their rooms upon arrival.
- Older Adult Patient Advocate – Each older adult patient is assigned a personal patient advocate to quickly respond to questions about St. Mary’s and to help coordinate additional services.
- Hospitalist Program – Athens’ first hospitalist program. If your physician uses this service, your care will be supervised by a board-certified hospitalist while you are an inpatient at St. Mary’s. Our hospitalists are specially trained in the health care needs of hospital patients. A hospitalist is on site 24 hours a day. Our hospitalist team works closely with your physician to ensure high quality care and a smooth transition after your discharge.

Home Health Care – Full range of home-based health care services in Athens-Clarke and surrounding counties since 1970. Focus areas include chronic heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, stroke and diabetes. Nursing services. Rehab. Home health aides. Pastoral care and more.
- Hospice Services – Compassionate end-of-life care for patients with terminal illnesses and their families since 1991. Services emphasize dignity, respect, compassion, education and pain management. An inpatient facility is now in planning.
- Non-Emergency Transportation – Non-emergency transportation for times when a personal vehicle is not appropriate. Limited to use by our older adult patients.
- Highland Hills – Independent living apartments and personal care. Beautiful grounds, full-service dining, on-site exercise, beauty/barber services, activities and outings for active living. Luxury living…anything but retirement.
- Support Groups – Joint Support Group for those living with arthritis; Stroke Support Group for those who have survived stroke. Caregivers, adult family members welcome. (706) 389-2900.
