St. Mary’s provides a full range of services tailored to the needs of children, including:

• Surgical services. Outpatient and inpatient surgery are available for a wide range of pediatric health care needs, including ear tubes, hernia repair, orthopedic corrections and more.
• Diabetes Education. One-on-one counseling for children with Type I and Type II diabetes and for their parents and caregivers. Teens and parents of children with diabetes may also take advantage of St. Mary’s regular Diabetes Education classes. A physician order is required. • Outpatient Rehabilitation Services. Physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language therapy, all tailored to the special needs of children. Features our innovative trapeze program in conjunction with Canopy Studios. Services are provided at St. Mary’s Outpatient Rehabilitation Center at The Exchange, 2470 Daniells Bridge Road, or at Canopy Studios, 160 Tracy St., Athens. A physician order is required. • Hospice Services. All hospice services that are available for adults are available for children, too, including nursing care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language therapy, pastoral care, social work services, volunteer assistance, and home health aides. • St. Mary’s Wellness Center. Now children can stay strong and healthy or fight obesity and its related health problems in a fun, safe environment. Kids ages 6-12 can enroll in the Wellness Center’s Youth Fit for Life program, which provides regular workouts under the supervision of a trained exercise specialist to manage their weight, improve their cardiovascular health, build strong muscles and bones, and learn healthy nutritional habits.
